Please read the following information and please take action. It is important for our government to hear from every family. This will only take a little effort but the impact will be tremendous.
We know many families who are on the waiting list for Passport and Special Services at Home funding, AND we all know the sometimes devastating impact that not receiving adequate support has on their every day lives.
These are vital services and the need for these services is urgent.
Please read the attached Lobbying Kit developed by ARCH Disability Law Centre. It is an excellent, easily understandable tool that can be used by families and their supporters to raise this issue with members of government.
It includes:
Information on writing a letter to relevant government Ministers
Information on writing a letter to local MPP
Information on meeting with local MPP
Template that can be used for writing a letter
Also attached is a Call for Stories on the Impact of the SSAH and Passport funding freeze. Personal stories have a big impact on government representatives!!!
Individually, we each know several families waiting for these vital supports. Collectively, across the province, we know thousands of families. Please pass on the information to families that you know that might have the energy to help lobby for these supports.
